NBA trade rumors: Lakers have not offered Brandon Ingram for Kawhi Leonard…yet

While the Lakers are reportedly open to including Brandon Ingram in a trade package for Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles has not offered the 2016 No. 2 overall pick yet, according to the Los Angeles Times.

A small update on where things stand with the Lakers and trade talks. A league source tells me that so far the Lakers haven’t offered Brandon Ingram in any deals.

He is an intriguing prospect and is still only 20 years old. He has a long way to go with his game, and his inclusion in a deal to the Spurs who are known for player development would certainly be enticing.

However, with this report, it is clear the Lakers still believe he can grow into a star, because if they didn’t, he would have been one of the first players linked in a trade rumor.

However, according to the report, George remains seriously interested in returning to the Thunder in free agency, the sources said.

Several teams are expected to pursue George, including the Rockets and 76ers. A native of Southern California, George also has been a focus for the Lakers, along with LeBron James. L.A. also is in talks to acquire Spurs star Kawhi Leonard.

George was Yangervis Solarte Jersey set to make $20.7 million for 2018-19 under the option year of his contract. He has until 11:59 p.m. ET Friday to formally decline the option.

The five-time All-Star forward was acquired last summer from the Pacers and averaged 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists this season while developing a strong rapport with LeShaun Sims Youth Jersey All-Star guard Russell Westbrook in OKC.

Thunder GM Sam Presti, coach Billy Donovan and Westbrook have been trying to persuade George to stay.
