Of course, Silver, though more frank than most commissioners, can’t say any of that.

Would league-run gambling decrease the suspicions, taint or reality of game-fixing? Not likely.

The one and only thing I’m sure of at this point is that a Southeastern Conference defender will hear his name called at No. 1. Which one? That’s easy.

That the issue is even debated tells us that such “fun” defies the human condition, that the losing team doesn’t much want to be surrounded, let alone mobbed and jostled, by those rushing the floor to celebrate the win — especially after a one-point loss.

Since 1993, Langan’s, around the corner and down the street from The Post, was the lunch and after-work place — the home away from home, but with better service, a larger menu and receipts for expense accounts. And as owner Des O’Brien agreed, “50,000 flies couldn’t be wrong!”

But one of those prohibitive rent hikes made Thursday night Langan’s last night.

Now it’s off to O’Brien’s next-closest place, cleverly named O’Brien’s, on West 46th Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues. Des claims he’s working on a new cocktail, The Jubilee Dunbar.

39. Jadeveon Clowney, defensive end/linebacker, Texans (45): Is the former No. 1 overall pick finally ready to live up to that billing? Clowney’s injury-riddled rookie season (zero sacks in just four games) was a waste, but he began to flash last year with 4.5 sacks and looks ready to build off that this year.

Hayden snapped the streak of Alabama players selected, but started a new one with two straight D.J.’s being drafted. Derek Jr. overcame a life-threatening injury in his senior season at Houston to become the No. 12 pick and eventually a starter for Oakland. His numbers increased with his playing time in each of his first three seasons, but he lost his starting job in 2016 as the secondary struggled. The Raiders released him after the season. Hayden signed a one-year deal with the Lions in March.

The Jets used their second first-round pick, which they got from the Bucs in the Darrelle Revis deal, on the defensive tackle from Missouri, Richardson made an immediate impact as the Defensive Rookie of the Year, even scoring two touchdowns as a fullback, and was voted to the Pro Bowl the following year. However, he began 2015 with a four-game drug suspension and served a one-game suspension in 2016 resulting from an arrest for reckless driving and resisting arrest.

Lotulelei was the second defensive tackle taken after Richardson, and might’ve been the first if not for a heart condition that kept him out of the Combine. The Tongan standout from Utah won a starting job as a rookie and helped Carolina win three straight NFC South titles. He had a career-high four sacks in 2016. He has yet to be named a Pro Bowler.

Even if Brady ultimately escapes punishment, New England can’t say the same. The Patriots will pay for their role in the controversy when the draft opens in April after being docked their 2016 first-round pick.
