MLB, players’ association agree to new posting system to bring Shohei Ohtani from Japan

Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association agreed Tuesday on a new posting system that will allow two-way star Shohei Ohtani to leave Japan and sign with an MLB team for the 2018 season, sources confirmed to ESPN.

Injuries took two of their top three cornerbacks out of the game for the second half.

Thielen finished with 123 yards on six receptions, giving him 916 yards this season. The only player in Vikings history to reach 900 yards receiving by the 10-game mark was Randy Moss, who did it in 2000 and 2003.

Pacers: After making 11 of 23 attempts at Miami on Sunday, Indiana came into the game as the NBA’s best 3-point shooting team (.404). They made 8 of 20 Monday night.

Magic: Rookie forward Jonathan Isaac missed a fourth straight game with a sprained right ankle. … The Magic outrebounded the Pacers 50-48 after coming into the game with the NBA’s worst rebounding percentage.

“It’s just easy to tell you what it is and let’s move forward. It’s just the whole game. It’s an injury, and within two hours after we tell you it’s ‘upper body,’ you know exactly what it is, so why not just tell you?”

No reasonable person expected much from the quarterback duo of veteran Brian Hoyer and rookie C.J. Beathard, but even by those meager standards, the fact that Niners QBs rank near the bottom of the league in most major passing categories has been a disappointment. Hoyer had a strong camp, leading to belief that he could at least be serviceable. That didn’t happen, and though it wasn’t all his fault, he was benched sooner than expected. The silver linings that keep this from a failing grade? Beathard has showed that he has some upside and could at minimum become a solid backup. And the addition of Jimmy Garoppolo gives the 49ers hope that things are going to get better at this position in the near future. — Nick Wagonernike_patriots_558
